Overview
The Ziro Music Festival happens once a year in the open Apatani valley, four days of independent music across outdoor stages with paddy fields on one side and pine ridges on the other. It is one of the most unusual festival settings in India and one of the few that feels discovered rather than invented. This ziro valley festival tour runs 5 Days, 4 Nights from Guwahati, timed to the September festival window, with the full travel arrangement sorted so the only thing left is the experience itself.
The festival pass is bought separately through the festival’s official channels and is not part of this package. What this covers is the Inner Line Permit, the private car from Guwahati, confirmed hotel accommodation in Ziro during festival week, and the MAP meals that keep the group fuelled while the lineup takes care of the evenings.
Day-wise Itinerary

The ziro valley festival tour begins at Guwahati airport where our representative meets the group and starts the drive northeast to North Lakhimpur, roughly five hours through the Assam river plains.
North Lakhimpur is the last comfortable overnight before the Arunachal hills and the Inner Line Permit check tomorrow, and an early night here makes sense because the valley, the stages and whatever the opening evening offers are all waiting on the other side of the drive tomorrow.
The Inner Line Permit check happens at the Arunachal border on the way out of North Lakhimpur, then the road climbs into the hills for about four to five hours before Ziro valley opens at around 1,500 metres, pine-rimmed and wide after the forest approach. Check in, drop the bags, and the festival grounds are close.
The ziro valley festival tour arrives in time for the first evening, when in festival week the sound from the main stage carries across the paddy before the scheduled sets have even started.
A full festival day with no fixed schedule, which is the point. Multiple outdoor stages across the festival grounds run folk, indie and world music from the afternoon through to late evening, the Apatani plateau providing a backdrop that no production budget could replicate.
The ziro valley festival tour leaves the day open by design, and the mornings before the stages come alive are the natural time for the Apatani village walks and the paddy field light that the general Ziro Valley package covers in its own separate itinerary.
The second full festival day tends to be the one people remember longest. The site is familiar, the lineup is known and the valley has settled into the festival's rhythm. Morning in the villages if the energy is there, full afternoon on the grounds and the evening until the last act finishes.
The ziro valley festival tour closes its Ziro section here, the final night in the valley before the long drive home begins tomorrow morning.
An early start from Ziro, seven to eight hours back to Guwahati through North Lakhimpur and across the Brahmaputra plains. The drive is long but manageable with an early alarm, and returning on the same road with other festival travellers heading home has its own kind of energy.
The ziro valley festival tour closes at Guwahati airport.

Best Time to Visit
Ziro Valley is pleasant from March to October, when the plateau is green and the roads are generally stable. The wet rice fields are at their best from June onward, while cooler months give clear open views. Late September brings the Ziro music festival, when accommodation fills quickly and early booking is essential. Monsoon months are lush but road conditions can vary.
