Overview
Meghalaya has a particular quality that makes it work well for a first trip together: the distances are short enough that no day feels like a transfer, the landscape shifts completely between Shillong and Cherrapunji and Shnongpdeng, and the mist at the canyon edges arrives without arrangement. This meghalaya honeymoon package runs 6 Days, 5 Nights from Guwahati through four distinct sections of East Khasi Hills, covering the hill city charm of Shillong, the transparent river overnight at Shnongpdeng, the waterfall cliffs at Cherrapunji, and the clean village lanes of Mawlynnong before the drive back to the airport.
The meghalaya honeymoon package is arranged so the couple arrives to everything already confirmed. Private car runs point to point through all six days, double sharing accommodation at deluxe hotels and homestays is pre-booked at every base, MAP meals cover breakfast and dinner throughout, and the Shnongpdeng riverside overnight on Day 3 is the element most couples say belongs at the centre of the trip. Flights to Guwahati, individual entry fees and Dawki river boating charges are the only items outside the package cost. Accommodation upgrades to couples cottages or superior rooms are available on request at booking.

The meghalaya honeymoon package begins at Guwahati airport where the car and driver are waiting at arrivals. The drive to Shillong is approximately 100 kilometres through the Assam floodplain and then up through the forest border into East Khasi Hills, taking two and a half to three hours.
Shillong sits at roughly 1,500 metres, hill-cool and noticeably different from the Indian plains in any season. Check in at the hotel and the evening is free, with Ward's Lake and Police Bazaar both within easy reach of most accommodations in the city. The first evening in Shillong sets the quiet register that the rest of the meghalaya honeymoon package follows.
Shillong earns a full day and the meghalaya honeymoon package gives it one. Umiam Lake is 15 kilometres north of the city, a wide reservoir with the Khasi Hills behind it and the kind of stillness on the water in the early morning that justifies the early start.
Elephant Falls is on the city's southern side, three tiers of waterfall through a forested walk. The afternoon goes to Laitlum Canyons at the plateau edge, where the ground drops away into a valley wide enough that the depth takes time to register. The canyon light in the late afternoon is when the day earns its place in the trip.
This day is the standout of the meghalaya honeymoon package. The drive from Shillong goes east and south to the Umngot River at Dawki, where the water is clear enough from the hull of a boat that the riverbed is in full view below the hull.
From Dawki the route moves to Shnongpdeng two kilometres upstream, where riverside camps and cottages sit directly on the bank of the same transparent river. The overnight accommodation is beside the water rather than in a hill town, and the evening at Shnongpdeng when the light leaves the water last is what most couples on this circuit say stays with them longest.
A morning at Shnongpdeng before the drive gives the couple time at the river in its quietest hour. Kayaking, cliff jumping and further boating are available for those who want more from the water before leaving.
The drive to Cherrapunji takes about two and a half hours through the southern Khasi Hills. The meghalaya honeymoon package arrives in the early afternoon, in time for the clifftop Eco Park and the first long view down the valley before the waterfalls are visited properly the following morning. The overnight at Cherrapunji is the only one on this circuit where the valley viewpoint comes directly from the accommodation.
A full day at Cherrapunji with no fixed schedule and the meghalaya honeymoon package holds it completely open. Nohkalikai Falls at 340 metres is the tallest plunge waterfall in India and the valley below takes genuine time to settle in scale.
Mawsmai Cave runs through the cliff face, narrow in sections and lit inside by filtered light from the cave openings. The Seven Sisters Falls viewpoint looks across a long valley carrying seven cascades on the same cliff face during monsoon. The afternoon is free at the clifftop and the mist that lifts off the valley after three in the afternoon is what most couples take home most clearly.
An early start from Cherrapunji drives to Mawlynnong, roughly 90 kilometres east along the southern plateau, where the cleanest village in Asia holds its title through genuine community habit rather than management for visitors. Bamboo bins at every junction, swept lanes and garden plots kept without commercial incentive all read as real, and the single root bridge at Riwai a short walk from the village centre is accessible without a full trek.
The meghalaya honeymoon package closes here before the drive north to Guwahati, about four to five hours through the Khasi Hills and the Assam plains. The six days end as they began, at Guwahati airport.

Best Time to Visit
Meghalaya stays cool year-round. Shillong enjoys pleasant weather (15°C–25°C), while Cherrapunji and Mawsynram receive heavy monsoons (June–September), creating dramatic waterfalls. Winters (October–February) are crisp and dry (4°C–16°C), perfect for exploring living root bridges, crystal-clear Dawki river, and limestone caves. October to April is the best time for sightseeing, trekking, and clear valley views.
