Overview
PatnitopΒ sits at approximately 2,024 metres in the Udhampur district of Jammu and Kashmir β a meadow hill station on the ridge of the Jammu-Srinagar national highway that every tourist travelling between the two cities passes through and almost none stops at for more than the viewpoint photograph. The meadow above the highway carries deodar forest on the upper slopes, open grassland across the lower plateau and a view south across the Shivalik foothills toward the Jammu plains that on a clear day extends further than the eye knows how to measure. Nathatop, approximately 4 kilometres from the Patnitop plateau at approximately 2,743 metres, gives the full 360-degree Himalayan panorama β the Kashmir Valley range to the north, the Pir Panjal system to the west and the Chenab gorge below. This patnitop kashmir tour package stays for two days rather than one photograph.
BonΒ Voyagers handles the pickup from Jammu Railway Station or Airport and covers three nights with a private Innova, Xylo or Scorpio class vehicle throughout. Night 1 is at Jammu. Night 2 and Night 3 are at Patnitop β two consecutive nights that give the ridge its full morning and afternoon character across two days. Day 2 covers Sanasar meadow and the Naag Temple. Day 3 drives to Nathatop viewpoint and then descends to Batote on the Chenab River for the afternoon before returning to Patnitop. Day 4 returns to Jammu. Daily breakfast and dinner on MAP basis throughout.
Day-wise Itinerary

The patnitop kashmir tour package begins at Jammu Railway Station or Airport where the Bon Voyagers vehicle is waiting. The drive from Jammu to Patnitop covers approximately 100 kilometres north on the Jammu-Srinagar national highway through the Udhampur district, taking around 2.5 to 3 hours on a road that climbs steadily from the Jammu plains through the Shivalik foothills before the highway ridge at Patnitop.
The arrival at Patnitop at approximately 2,024 metres carries the specific quality of a place that the highway makes accessible but does not make known β the meadow opens to the right of the road as the vehicle crests the ridge and the deodar forest begins above it. The afternoon is for the meadow walk and the first reading of the ridge before the Day 2 programme begins. Overnight at Patnitop.
The Patnitop morning before the Day 2 drive gives this patnitop kashmir tour package its first unhurried hour on the ridge β the meadow at approximately 2,024 metres in the early light before the highway traffic builds below. The drive from Patnitop to Sanasar covers approximately 10 kilometres along the ridge road in around 20 minutes.
Sanasar at approximately 2,050 metres is a wide open grassland β the JKTDC golf course occupies the flat centre of the meadow and the paragliding launch site at the meadow edge gives a clear sense of the elevation above the valley below. The Naag Temple sits at the Sanasar meadow edge β an ancient site associated with the serpent deity tradition of the Udhampur hill community. The return to Patnitop in the afternoon gives the meadow its evening character before dinner. Overnight at Patnitop.
Nathatop sits approximately 4 kilometres from the Patnitop plateau at approximately 2,743 metres β the highest accessible point on the ridge above the highway and the place that makes the full 360-degree Himalayan panorama available without a trek. The drive from Patnitop to the Nathatop approach covers the upper forest belt and the vehicle reaches within a short walk of the viewpoint. The Himalayan arc to the north, the Pir Panjal system to the west and the Chenab gorge below to the south are all visible from the Nathatop ridge on a clear morning.
The descent from Nathatop on this patnitop kashmir tour package follows the highway down to Batote on the Chenab River β approximately 22 kilometres below Patnitop at approximately 870 metres. The river at Batote runs through the lower Chenab gorge before the valley widens toward Ramban. The return to Patnitop for the final overnight climbs back up the highway in the late afternoon. Overnight at Patnitop.
The final morning of the patnitop kashmir tour package is at Patnitop β the meadow at approximately 2,024 metres before the highway traffic fills the road below. For a group that has spent two full days on this ridge the morning gives the meadow its final character β the deodar forest above carrying the early light, the valley views to the south still clear before the day haze builds and the highway quiet for the last hour before the freight traffic begins.
The drive from Patnitop to Jammu covers approximately 100 kilometres in around 2.5 to 3 hours on the descent. The Bon Voyagers vehicle drops at Jammu Railway Station or Airport for the return.

Patnitop at approximately 2,024 metres runs year-round on this package. Summer from April through September gives the meadow its green grassland character with the clearest mountain views from Nathatop in the pre-monsoon May and June window. Patnitop receives snowfall from approximately December through February β the meadow under snow gives the ridge a completely different character.
