Overview
TheΒ Andaman IslandsΒ are approximately 572 kilometres long from the northernmost accessible point to the southernmost. Most Andaman visitors see perhaps 60 kilometres of that length β the ferry from Port Blair to Havelock, the road to the southern beaches. This north andaman tour package covers the rest. The drive from Port Blair to Diglipur is approximately 320 kilometres through forest roads that pass through the convoy zone of the Jarawa Tribal Reserve, the limestone caves of Baratang, the mangrove waterways of Rangat, the Karen community settlement and the turtle beaches of Mayabunder and the feral elephant sanctuary of Interview Island before arriving at the highest point in the entire archipelago β Saddle Peak at approximately 732 metres, reached by a full day forest trek through Saddle Peak National Park. The Ross and Smith Islands sandbar sits at the midpoint of that north reach β two islands connected by a pale strip of sand with the sea at ankle height on both sides. Seven days is the minimum that circuit deserves.
Bon VoyagersΒ manages the complete ground programme from Port Blair Airport arrival. Day 1 covers Baratang and arrives at Rangat. Day 2 moves to Mayabunder with the Moricedera mangroves and Karmatang Beach. Day 3 is the Interview Island wildlife sanctuary excursion. Day 4 continues to Diglipur with the Ross and Smith Islands sandbar in the afternoon. Day 5 is the Saddle Peak full day trek. Day 6 is the long return drive to Port Blair. Day 7 is the departure. Private AC Ertiga or Xylo class vehicle covers all road transfers. Boat tickets for Interview Island, Moricedera creek, Baratang cave crossing and Ross and Smith Islands, Saddle Peak forest department permit, and all entry charges are included. Daily breakfast and dinner on MAP basis throughout all seven days.
Day-wise Itinerary
7-day travel plan β tap any day to view full details.
The north andaman tour package begins at Port Blair Airport where the Bon Voyagers representative meets the group on arrival. The drive north starts immediately β this is a seven-day journey north and south through the length of accessible Andaman and Day 1 covers the first significant stop. The convoy through the Jarawa Tribal Reserve near Jirkatang is the first marker β the government-escorted passage through a legally protected tribal area where stopping and photography are strictly prohibited under Indian law.
Baratang follows on the far side of the reserve β the motorboat from Baratang jetty across the mangrove creek to the limestone cave landing, the jungle trek to the cave entrance, the stalactites and stalagmites visible by torchlight, the mud volcanoes on the road back. By the time the group reaches Rangat in the evening after the full Baratang programme, Day 1 has already covered more distinct terrain than most Andaman packages manage in their entirety. Overnight at Rangat.
The morning at Rangat opens with the Moricedera mangrove creek β a tidal waterway navigable by small boat through dense mangrove forest, the canopy closing the sky overhead in sections, herons and kingfishers working the root systems in the early light. The drive from Rangat to Mayabunder covers approximately 70 kilometres through North Andaman, taking around 2 hours through forest roads that carry progressively less traffic as the road moves north.
Mayabunder is a small administrative town with a working harbour and a quiet market. The afternoon is for the Karen community settlement β the descendants of Burmese Karen people brought to the Andamans during the British colonial period, who have maintained their language, their hand-weaving tradition and their community identity across multiple generations here. Karmatang Beach in the evening is a long undeveloped stretch that serves as a documented olive ridley turtle nesting site between approximately October and March. Overnight at Mayabunder.
The boat from Mayabunder harbour to Interview Island departs early morning β approximately one to one and a half hours across open water to a designated wildlife sanctuary with no permanent human population. The feral elephants of Interview Island are descendants of animals brought here during the British period for timber extraction work and left on the island when the operations ended. They are wild animals in dense forest β their movements on any given day are unpredictable and sightings cannot be guaranteed. The group carries everything needed for the day from Mayabunder β water, food and any medication β since the island has no facilities.
The forest department permit for the sanctuary is collected before departure. What Interview Island delivers on this north andaman tour package regardless of elephant sightings is the specific experience of spending a day on an uninhabited island that is a functioning wildlife sanctuary β the forest, the silence, the absence of any human infrastructure. Return to Mayabunder by afternoon. Overnight at Mayabunder.
The drive from Mayabunder to Diglipur covers approximately 80 kilometres in around 2 to 2.5 hours β the northernmost leg of the road journey on this north andaman tour package. Diglipur is the northernmost accessible town in the Andaman chain. The afternoon is for the Ross and Smith Islands sandbar β the boat from Aerial Bay jetty takes approximately 30 minutes and the departure time is set around the low tide window for the travel date.
The sandbar connecting the two islands sits barely above the waterline at low tide β pale sand between two forested islands, the sea at ankle height on both sides, open water in every direction. The crossing takes a few minutes and most people stand at the midpoint longer than they planned to. After three days of forest roads, mangrove waterways, a Karen village and an uninhabited wildlife sanctuary, the sandbar on Day 4 arrives as the north circuitβs most visually exact moment. Overnight at Diglipur.
Saddle Peak at approximately 732 metres is the highest point in the Andaman and Nicobar Islands and the Day 5 centrepiece of this north andaman tour package. The trail enters Saddle Peak National Park from the forest department check post where permits are collected β an early start is essential for the cooler forest temperature in the lower sections and the morning light at the summit. The ascent through dense rainforest takes approximately 3 to 4 hours at a comfortable pace β tree roots, uneven ground, the canopy closing overhead in the upper sections, the birdlife of the Saddle Peak forest audible through the trees.
The summit gives the clearest sense of the Andaman chainβs geography available on foot β forested ridges running north and south with the Bay of Bengal on both sides. The descent takes approximately 2 to 3 hours. A full day is kept clear. By Day 5 the group has covered the Baratang geology, the Rangat mangroves, the Karen community, the Interview Island sanctuary and the Ross-Smith sandbar β the Saddle Peak summit closes the north arc. Overnight at Diglipur.
Day 6 of this north andaman tour package is the long return β approximately 320 kilometres from Diglipur to Port Blair taking 9 to 11 hours with stops. The drive south retraces a road the group now knows from both directions. The Jarawa Tribal Reserve convoy on the southbound run applies the same rules as the northbound passage.
The landscape between Diglipur and Rangat looks different from this direction β the forest closer, the settlements more familiar, the distance accumulated across five days giving the road a different weight on the return than it carried on Day 1. A brief stop at the Baratang mud volcanoes is possible if the convoy timing allows β confirmed by the Bon team on the day. Port Blair by evening β the city arrives with its traffic and harbour noise after five days in the north as a specific kind of re-entry. Overnight in Port Blair.
The final morning of the north andaman tour package is in Port Blair. Groups with afternoon or evening departure flights have time for Ross Island β now Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose Island β reached by a short boat ride from Aberdeen Jetty, the colonial ruins and the deer in the forest. North Bay is available for a glass bottom boat ride over the reef. The Sagarika government emporium near the clock tower carries Andaman shell craft and spices at fixed prices for a final purchase.
The Bon Voyagers vehicle drops at Port Blair Airport. Seven days and approximately 640 kilometres of road through the length of the accessible Andaman Islands β the limestone south, the mangrove middle, the Karen north, the feral elephant island, the pale sandbar and the forest summit β is a different kind of Andaman trip from anything the south island circuit delivers. Most travellers who complete it do not immediately want to describe it.

Best Time to Visit
The complete north Andaman circuit in this package is best attempted between October and May when the sea crossing to Interview Island is safe, the Saddle Peak trek trail is dry enough for comfortable ascent and the convoy roads between Port Blair and Diglipur are in good condition. The monsoon from June through September makes the Interview Island boat crossing unsafe, turns the Saddle Peak trail dangerously slippery and degrades road conditions in North Andaman significantly. The Karmatang Beach turtle nesting season runs October through March, making the post-monsoon window the ideal period for combining all elements of this north andaman tour package. Peak demand falls in December through February when temperatures are at their most comfortable for the long drives and the full-day Saddle Peak trek.
