The Munnar to Thekkady drive covers approximately 90 to 105 kilometres through cardamom and spice plantation country, descending from Munnar's elevation. Kovalam sits approximately 16 kilometres south of Trivandrum. The three beaches — Lighthouse Beach, Hawah Beach and Samudra Beach — sit in adjoining bays separated by rocky headlands.
