HomeKerala6 Days Kerala Family Tour Package 2027 | Joyful

Overview

This kerala family tour package 6 days is built around the four destinations that cover everything a family trip to Kerala needs — a colonial heritage city, a hill station with tea estates and a national park, a spice plantation forest with a wildlife reserve, and the backwater houseboat that children talk about for years after. Six days is enough time to give each destination a proper day rather than a rushed stop — two nights at Munnar, one at Thekkady and one houseboat night at Alleppey, with the Fort Kochi heritage walk on arrival and the return through Kochi on the final day. This kerala family tour package 6 days is the most requested Kerala duration from families travelling from all major Indian cities.

Bon Voyagers manages the complete ground programme for this kerala family tour package 6 days from Kochi Airport arrival. The private AC Innova Crysta covers all road transfers throughout — comfortable for families with children and elderly members. Five nights accommodation — one at Kochi, two at Munnar, one at Thekkady, one Alleppey houseboat night — daily breakfast and dinner on MAP basis. Houseboat lunch and evening tea on the Alleppey night, Periyar Lake boat ride entry and all sightseeing transfers are included. The per person cost of this kerala family tour package 6 days is ₹22,700.

6 Days

This kerala family tour package 6 days begins at Kochi Airport where the Bon Voyagers representative meets the family on arrival. The afternoon is Fort Kochi — the heritage peninsula where the Chinese fishing nets stand on the waterfront, the cantilever structures that have been operating since the 14th century according to local records. St. Francis Church nearby is the oldest European church in India — Vasco da Gama was originally buried here before his remains were returned to Portugal.
The Mattancherry Palace, built by the Portuguese in the mid-16th century and later renovated by the Dutch, houses murals from the Ramayana and Mahabharata across its interior walls. Dinner at the hotel. Overnight at Kochi.

The drive from Kochi to Munnar covers approximately 130 kilometres and climbs through the Ernakulam plains into the Idukki hills. The Cheeyappara and Valara waterfalls appear roadside as the vehicle gains altitude — both are proper stops with viewing areas and both work well with children who have been sitting in the vehicle for two hours. The road gains height steadily and the temperature drops as Munnar gets closer.
Munnar sits at around 1,600 metres and the air on arrival is cool enough that most families from the plains find themselves reaching for a light layer by evening. The Old Munnar town market is a short walk from most hotels for an evening stroll. Overnight at Munnar.

A full Munnar day for the family. The morning is Eravikulam National Park — the protected high-altitude grassland where the Nilgiri Tahr is regularly sighted on the open slopes. Entry is by Forest Department regulated vehicle. Children who have grown up seeing wildlife only in screens tend to go very quiet when a Tahr appears ten metres from the road.
The afternoon covers Mattupetty Dam — a storage reservoir approximately 13 kilometres from town where boating is available locally — and the Kundala tea estate viewpoints along the upper road. The Tea Museum near Munnar town is a well-organised introduction to how tea goes from leaf to cup and holds the attention of most age groups for around an hour. Overnight at Munnar.

The drive from Munnar to Thekkady covers approximately 90 to 105 kilometres through cardamom and spice country, descending from Munnar's elevation. The landscape shifts from open tea estates to denser spice corridor as the vehicle approaches Thekkady. Arrival by mid-afternoon. The Periyar Lake boat ride inside the Periyar Tiger Reserve is the afternoon programme — a one to two hour circuit on the reservoir where elephant, deer and bison come to the water's edge in the early morning and late afternoon.
Sightings are well documented by operators but never guaranteed. The Thekkady spice market in the evening gives families a chance to walk through cardamom, pepper and cinnamon stalls at fixed and negotiable prices. Overnight at Thekkady.

The drive from Thekkady to Alleppey covers approximately 140 kilometres through the Kottayam rubber belt — around three hours. Houseboat check-in at Alleppey is typically at noon. The afternoon on the houseboat is the backwater circuit — the vessel moves through the canal and lake network past paddy field edges, canal villages, fishing boats and coconut groves.
Children at the rail watching kingfishers, egrets and the occasional monitor lizard on the canal bank is the specific image that defines the houseboat afternoon for most families on this kerala family tour package 6 days. Lunch and evening tea are served on board. The vessel moors for the night on a designated canal section. Overnight on the houseboat.

Houseboat checkout is by 9 AM. The morning on the water before the engine starts — the canal at dawn, the mist over the paddy fields and the sound of the birds on the bank — is different from everything the previous five days offered. After checkout the vehicle drives to Kochi for departure — approximately 55 kilometres from Alleppey, taking around 1.5 hours.
Families with afternoon or evening flights have time for a Marine Drive walk along the Kochi waterfront or a quick stop at the Lulu Mall for last-minute purchases. The Bon Voyagers vehicle drops at Kochi Airport. This kerala family tour package 6 days ends here.
