Full car, early start. The group assembles at Guwahati airport or railway, our representative sorts the first handshake and the arunachal group tour package gets moving with the nine hour climb to Bomdila. Inner Line Permit check at Bhalukpong, the Tenga valley, and then the road tightens and the elevation builds properly.
Bomdila sits at around 8,000 feet and it earns that height by the time it arrives. Nobody is complaining once dinner is on the table.
This is the day groups talk about later. A quick monastery stop at Bomdila in the morning, then the main drive, about 180 kilometres and seven to eight hours with Sela Pass at 13,700 feet somewhere in the middle. Cold at the top, genuinely cold, with a small lake sitting frozen or near-frozen for most of the year.

Over Sela Pass again, this time heading down toward Dirang. The group moves quicker through the pass on the return, the road is familiar and the stops sharper. Around 140 kilometres and seven hours, and Dirang arrives at 4,900 feet, warm and low after the high country.

Long drive out, around 200 kilometres and seven hours as the road unwinds from the hills back into flat Assam warmth. Bhalukpong marks the boundary, and after that it is plains driving to Tezpur.

Best Time to Visit
Arunachal Pradesh is most accessible from March to early November, when Sela Pass and the Tawang roads are generally clear of heavy snow. During peak months, daytime temperatures in Tawang range between 10 and 20 degrees Celsius, though nights stay cold year round. September offers a perfect balance of manageable weather and stunning visibility before winter conditions begin in November.
