The summer was exceptionally harsh, with a historic heatwave on February 25 pushing temperatures well above normal, followed by a May where humidity made "feels-like" temperatures soar toward 48°C. This was immediately followed by a monsoon that arrived nearly a week early on May 25. While the total rainfall for the season was a steady 104% of the average, the distribution was highly erratic; the state witnessed massive single-day spikes, such as on August 28, when a deluge of 162.1 mm triggered widespread flooding and emergency alerts. By the end of the year, the post-monsoon transition remained warmer than usual, with a significant trend of rising night-time temperatures. Even as the rains subsided in October, the expected winter cooling was delayed, keeping the coastal air humid and warm well into late November.
